High Price, Average Experience
The Spa is part of the White Oaks hotel, which is just off the highway, and a popular place for weddings and conventions.
I had been having trouble with tight shoulders so I was looking forward to a great massage. My therapist was nice but perhaps not very experienced. I didn’t feel like I was in expert hands, there was very little conversation or recommendations to my condition. I tried to relax and enjoy it; however, it was not the best massage I’ve had.
Elizabeth Arden facial
I have never had an Elizabeth Arden facial so I wanted to give this a try. My facialist did a good job of cleansing, exfoliating, and extracting. My face felt very clean but there were no luxurious smells. As far as spa product lines go this one didn’t stand out.
Overall I feel like this spa turns over a lot of clients and I felt a little hustled through it all. There was also some confusion with our booking times, which they attempted to make up for with a small bag of samples and glass of champagne. Somehow I missed a sense of calm and relaxation here. Staff was friendly, but the spa manager “Jennifer” never returned my calls.
Jen’s tip: Niagara-on-the-Lake is a gem. White Oaks is about a 15 minute drive away from Queen St., the centre for shopping, restaurants and spas. Next time I would stay in town to be with-in walking distance to all it has to offer.
