Island Spa Sensory Experience
This is an open-air spa paradise. Mar and I had side-by-side huts with open shutter windows, an outdoor shower and view of the ocean through open double doors at the back – oceanfront. The island breeze blows through the hut and the sound of the ocean is soothing. The doors are open at the back but it felt completely private surrounded by a garden on both sides. It’s a cozy environment with both a beach and Balinese influence.
I felt it was the perfect pressure and she incorporated stretches for my problem areas, such as my lower back. Merna was a very good therapist and the whole atmosphere was tranquil.
She started with cleansing, a scrub then steam (lots of steam), exfoliation and a cooling mask for my sensitive skin. She was efficient but I had to ask what was being applied for each step, curious as to what was going on my face. She finished with sunscreen, always a good idea especially in Turks and Caicos.
Jen’s tip: Try this spa for a true indoor/outdoor island experience. This is not the spa for saunas, steam rooms, and pool amenities.
