Mini Vacation Oasis
This by far is my favorite spa.
In a tranquil, water front location sits Bota Bota, a boat converted into a decadent spa. Locals and travelers come to enjoy the water circuit and treatments. There is an intoxicating smell of botanical oils before you even get to the front door.
The thermal water circuit experience is a repetition of hot, cold and relaxation. Hot for 15 min in the dry sauna or steam bath to raise your body temperature and flush toxins; cold for 1 min in cold baths to get your heart pumping and close your pours; then relax on deck. I choose the whirlpool to warm up after the cold bath!
It’s a great place to spend the day. Take in the view on a deck lounger, from the whirlpools or in the garden. There are lots of places to chill in a hammock, a porthole window or beanbag chair.
We were enjoying it so much I hoped the treatments we booked would live up to the experience so far. They did not disappoint, I was in heaven.
Hot Shell Massage
This was a first for me I didn’t know what to expect. The shells were polished and smooth with two holes in the back for the placement of warm lava rocks. I completely relaxed in minutes.
This is absolutely the best massage I have ever had; my massage therapist was just excellent. Jeannine had the perfect amount of pressure and fantastic technique.
Pear and Green Apple Sugar Scrub
This raw sugar scrub smelled so good I bought the product after my treatment. Victoria expertly applied the scrub and I my skin felt nourished and so soft. It’s quite sticky but a shower is provided to rinse off, leaving my skin silky.
Jen’s tip: Try the hot shell massage you will not regret it. Choose a porthole window seat and relax over looking the water. Also bring flip-flops, they are not provided.
